Marans Hatching Eggs
This is a Pre-Order for chicks that will be hatched the week of March 10th, 2025.
Marans are known for their beautiful dark brown eggs. Our Marans line is not your typical large hatchery bird. Our Marans lay stunning dark chocolate-colored eggs with a reddish hue. We only ship or hatch eggs that meet our high standards - that we would want in our own flocks. With our carefully selected foundation flock we had a few dark egg laying Blue and Splash Marans. While most of our Marans will resemble the classic black or black copper variety, some exhibit the blue feather pattern, much to our delight! We currently hatch out eggs from a 5-8 on the Marans scale. We will continue to focus on breeding for rich, chocolate-colored eggs and are excited to watch our Marans line continue to improve!
Please note: Marans' eggs are their darkest at the beginning of their laying cycle. Their eggs will lighten as they get closer to their yearly molt.

Marans Egg Color
Marans' eggs are their darkest at the beginning of their laying cycle. Their eggs will lighten as they get closer to their yearly molt. Although our line of Marans are bred specifically for those deep brown eggs, each lovely hen is unique and some hens may lay a lighter shaded egg. I will always hatch and share the darkest eggs we have, but cannot guarantee egg color/shades of the chicks sold or hatched from our flocks.
Hatching Egg Guarantee
While we guarantee that our eggs will arrive intact and beautiful, please note that hatching results may vary even if you are experienced. Due to the variable nature of incubation, hatch rates can be influenced by factors such as handling, temperature, humidity, and transportation, among others. We take great care in selecting, delivering, and shipping our eggs, but we cannot control the conditions in which they are incubated. Although we hope you have wonderful hatches, we cannot guarantee your hatch rates. Thank you for understanding.
